Oklahoma Sooners vs. Oregon Ducks Officiating Controversy

This clip is much shorter and to the point than my previous one. It is also more appealing to the eye. For the full controversy see the original clip. However, this one’s pretty good on its own.

@hippiboy…. first of all its the PAC 10 and oregon has how many national titles? and please tell me how did the wack 10 do in bowl games? 0-2 against the big 12 as i remember and against the mtn west OUCH!

  • soonercentral

    worst call in sports history

  • soonercentral

im sorry to say but outside of the big 10 they are the worst bcs conference and thats pretty sad to even say that the big 10 is good the only good team thats consistent is usc

Oregon State loses to Mountain West – BYU 44-20.

Cal loses to Mountain West Utah 37-27

Arizona gets KILLED 33-0 to Nebraska

Oregon loses to Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.

The Mountain West is 4-0 in bowl games and about to be 5-0 when TCU kills Boise State

    PAC-10 SUCKS

First of all its PAC 10 dip shit. Learn the conferences’ names. Oklahoma has suffered more injuries this year than Oregon has suffered in the past three.

  • DeviousBrute

this is realy bad, but the all time worst was Colorado’s 5th down touchdown.

  • hippiboy300

    @holycowimtired

how the hell is oregon so lame? the pack-10 is arguably one of the best conferences in collage football! The oregon ducks are ranked #7 in the nation, and how is oklahoma doing? hmm… thats right i dont think so.

  • holycowimtired

this to be the worst call in college football history now that we have replay officiating capabilities. It goes to show how pathetic oregon and pac 10 officiating crews are.

  • bobob0000

yup, still pissed to this day…

I dont think that guy ever recovered the ball either.. It looks to me that he just slid on the ground and tried to grab the ball but he couldnt get a hold of it. He just hit the ball further downfield and then the Oklahoma player picked it up. If he had possession of the ball then why did the ball go sliding another 5 yards downfield?

  • devinhesterowns

The balls was kicked from the 35 yard line and must pass or at least go to the 45 yard line. 35 to 45 = 10 yards and they are both marked by lines..
It should be Sooners ball in more than 2 ways from what I saw.

If the Oregon player ever had possession, then it was for a very very short amount of time. I really don’t think that he had it at all. Overall I think the Refs had a really bad day. Bad calls and missed calls both ways. Oklahoma scored more points after bad or missed calls than Oregon did. Two very good teams. Both teams deserve respect. I don’t think either team deserved to lose that one.

  • m8s4lif

Does anybody know for sure what the rules say? I sure don’t.

  • m8s4lif

I agree that you can not tell if the Oregon player had possession. Thats why the possession part of the ruling could not be overruled. But it did look like the ball was probably touched before it went 10 yards. That part was really close. The big question that I would like to know is where do they count ten yards from. If it is from the place where the ball was kicked from then it might have gone ten yards. If the rule says that it has to pass the line on the field then it looks like it didn’t.

  • MrSimpsobj

If you think that was the right call you are retarded or obviously an Oregon fan. I hope that doesn’t make you a moron by default, because I actually like Oregon (and hate OU), but that call is an absolute joke.

  • devinhesterowns

I think you’re the one who doesn’t know what he is talking about… first off Oregon touched the ball before it went 10 yards. That is a penalty which means it should have been Sooners ball right there. Secondly you can’t really tell if the Oregon player even had possession of the ball in that angle…

  • whiteyjohnson1

chaseclark is right, this video is very biased

  • janitorsdisease

what replay were the refs looking at..

  • ChaseClark541

this video clip does not do this play justice number one. and number two i was there that day… what this sliced and diced video doesn’t show you is that the duck who had the ball also had his knee touch the ground… and if you idiots knew anything, (which you don’t because you probably never played football), it means that the play is over. It doesn’t matter who wrestles it away in the dog pile. DUH!

  • chikenwing12

that was the worst call ever and i am a die hard ducksfan
